Week Three

Your baby is a fertilized egg!

Week 2 - [ Week 3 ] - Week 4

Your baby this week

Your baby is now a fertilized egg. This week, the sperm fertilizes the egg as it's making its way to the uterus, and the cells start dividing even before the egg implants in the uterus.

Your body this week

You may not have any pregnancy symptoms yet, but since the fertilized egg is growing, some pregnancy hormones are already starting to be produced. If you've been trying to conceive for a while, or you've been tracking your ovulation, you may be hyper-aware of pregnancy symptoms.

Symptoms this week

Lower Abdominal Pressure - some people report pressure or cramping when the fertilized egg implants.

Metallic Taste - hormones can cause a metallic taste in your mouth, or cause foods to taste differently. This may be something you're used to from PMS, or it might be an unfortunate new experience. Some people recommend drinking or eating acidic things if it gets unbearable.
